AC - artist and author

Born in 1976 in Eastern Berlin, she and her family fled to the West in 1988. They settled in Munich, but after highschool AC went back to Berlin for her studies. She migrated to England in 2007 to do her PhD in the social sciences and work as an academic. In 2019, AC left her academic career to concentrate fully on writing and painting. Since 2024, she is devoted fully to her art.

Her passion for painting started in highschool, and she has always been drawn to the beauty of the female face. While her painting style is naive, her special distinctiveness are the gold, glitter, and jewellery elements that elevate the portrayal of feminine beauty.

AC Beyer is disabled, with schizophrenia. Her love of gold and glitter elements is especially inspired by her time in the locked ward. There, she discovered how beauty-enhancing materials could transform the oppressing atmosphere and lift the spirits of women who had been trodden down, abused and confined. These materials became a way to reclaim and celebrate feminine strength.
